Hochschule Reutlingen (Reutlingen University) is a mid-sized public university of applied sciences, based in the city of Reutlingen in Baden-Württemberg.

Once the state college for textiles, weaving and knitting, today the university has extended to offer a range of bachelor, masters and even non-degree courses in International Business, Information, Technology, and Engineering.

Reutlingen University was founded in 1855. It is a medium-sized university with 5,800 students, a quarter of which (1,400) are international. Hochschule Reutlingen has five faculties (schools) offering a total of 16 bachelor degrees and 22 master degrees.

The university’s five schools include the School of Informatics, the ESB Business School, the School of Applied Chemistry, the School of Engineering and the School of Textiles & Design. The university regularly ranks highly in Germany’s CHE university rankings, notably for its Engineering, Informatics and Business degrees.

Hochschule Reutlingen is based in the state of Baden-Württemberg, which means non-EU students have to pay tuition fees. Internationals students are well-supported, however, though the Reutlingen International Office, which offers a range of services including a ‘Student4Student’ buddy support system, a range of intercultural workshops and access to language courses. The International Business degree courses have a higher rate of international students, around 50%, and are typically taught in English. The university also boasts a ‘Knowledge Foundation’ program for continuing education and is also home to its own Centre of Applied Research.

Internationals studying for more than one year in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will have to pay a €1,500 tuition fee per semester.
