Most public universities in Germany charge no tuition fees for architecture programs — for both domestic and international students. Instead, students pay a semester contribution of roughly €200-400 per semester, which covers administrative costs and often includes a public transport ticket.

The main exception is Baden-Württemberg, where public universities charge non-EU students €1,500 per semester. Private universities charge higher fees, typically ranging from €1,000 to €10,000 per year.

If you want to expand your career options beyond architecture, several related Master's programs build on an architectural foundation and offer more flexibility:

Urban Planning programs combine spatial design with social, environmental, and infrastructure planning. Universities like Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Bauhaus University Weimar offer English-taught Master's programs in this area.

Cultural Heritage programs focus on the preservation and management of historic buildings and sites. These are available at universities across Germany in both German and English.

Landscape Architecture programs blend architectural thinking with ecological design and outdoor spaces. Leibniz University Hanover, among others, offers an English-taught European Master in Landscape Architecture.
