Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences
Frankfurt am Main
Advanced Architecture | From Urban Design to Building Construction
Subjects: Architecture;Urban Design
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Graduates will excel at bridging the gap between abstract designs and concrete implementations. They will focus on the planning phase, known in the German fee schedule as "execution planning," ensuring strong feedback loops with the design process. This work will be closely tied to the latest scientific research in design and construction. Career opportunities for graduates span architectural, engineering, and construction firms, the construction industry, property development, housing associations, real estate companies, the public sector, and research and technological development in design and construction. Students will gain extensive knowledge in design and construction through a mix of lectures and modules. These cover urban design, the design of existing buildings, new buildings, and built environments. The program includes internationally-oriented projects and a variety of mandatory modules. Students can tailor their studies to their interests through a specialization project and the selection of obligatory modules, which can also serve as the focus of their master's thesis. Additionally, students with the necessary German language skills can choose 30 ECTS credits from the German master's degree course in Architecture.
