Stuttgart’s Macromedia University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Macromedia) is a small, specialist and private university offering Bachelor's and Master's courses in media, communications, fashion and art.

The first Macromedia University was founded in Stuttgart in 2006. Across all seven campuses there are 2,500 students, with a few hundred students enrolled at each of the locations.

This small, specialist media university is located in Bad Cannstatt in Stuttgart. The Bachelor's course programs are seven semesters long and include one practical semester and one semester abroad at a partner university. The university’s career service works closely with key regional media companies, helping graduates secure appropriate employment upon course completion.

All courses have small intakes each year, which means students enjoy excellent student : tutor ratios. International students are warmly welcomed, although all courses at Stuttgart are taught in German. The university has seven German campuses, in addition to Stuttgart there is one in Berlin, Hamburg, Freiburg, Leipzig, Cologne and Munich. Some courses at these other locations are taught in English. International students are fully supported through the International Study Office.

Internationals studying for more than one year in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will have to pay a €1,500 tuition fee per semester.
