Deggendorf is home to just under 120,000 people, around 1 in 20 of whom are enrolled at the city's well-regarded Institute of Technology, which trains graduates for Bavaria's tech-intensive industrial sector. The town hosts several history and technology museums, and hosts Donaufest - an annual riverside jamboree featuring music, regional food, and plenty of entertainment.

Studying and Working in Deggendorf

Deggendorf is a serene place tucked away in southern Bavaria, within sight of the Alps and on the edge of a seemingly endless forest. Its natural surroundings make it a popular spot for climbers, hikers, skiers, and even golfers. The city also has a lively cultural tradition, with numerous festivals taking place throughout the year.

Deggendorf is also home to one of Germany's premier engineering universities, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT). DIT offers courses in technical subjects including the Internet of Things, Mechatronics, Health Informatics, and Business Management. Courses are geared towards the needs of Bavaria's economy, and work placements are routine. A few courses are taught entirely in English, including popular Bachelors in International Management and in Industrial Engineering. The student body is cosmopolitan and diverse and receives plenty of support options to help international arrivals settle in.
