Rosenheim is a small town located in an Alpine region of Upper Bavaria, built along the banks of the River Inn. Shopping, dining and socializing in the town revolves around the charming cobbled market square, Max-Josefs-Platz.
Despite the relatively small population, the town hosts numerous events, features a number of green spaces and museums, as well as a theater and university. Surrounded by some of Germany’s most beautiful landscapes, residents have easy access to both the Austrian ski slopes and the exciting city life of Munich.
Rosenheim has a population of just 60,000. The town has one public university which is home to nearly 5,300 students. The town is also home to five museums.
Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of degree courses across its four major study areas; Business, Design, Technology and Healthcare. International students are warmly welcomed and will find a good choice of English-taught programs. The campus is located to the north of the town, a 20-minute walk from the historic center of Rosenheim. The university has close links with regional industry.
As a traditional market town, much of Rosenheim’s economic activity is still centered around trade and retail. Graduates also find employment at the large regional manufacturing and automotive companies found in the Upper Bavarian region and around Munich. The tourism industry is another key regional employer.
