There are three public universities in the city. The largest is the University of Potsdam, notable for the study areas of philosophy, humanities, law and psychology, while the medium-sized Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Potsdam) is noted for its programs in Architecture and Construction. The small Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf is also located in the city and is Germany’s foremost institution for film studies.
