How does the Expatrio Scholarship work? It's easy!

  • Answer the Expatrio Scholarship 2024 question: Why are you passionate about the field of study you are pursuing in Germany? by submitting a video via our application form.
  • Simply submit a video showing us your passion. Everyone has a fair chance, regardless of video quality or editing skills.
  • Our Expatrio Scholarship judging panel will analyze the video submissions and choose the winners.
  • The top prize winner will receive €12,000, second place will receive €6,000, and third place will receive €3,000. Many more prizes for fourth to tenth place winners.
  • Winners will receive their prize money after they have activated their Blocked Account and Health Insurance with Expatrio.
  • Please note: The Scholarship cannot be used to fund your Blocked Account. The prizes will be awarded only after you have arrived in Germany.

Who can apply for the Expatrio Scholarship?

Our Scholarship is open to students from all over the world who meet the following criteria:

  • You apply for the Expatrio Value Package by the 30th September 2024.
  • You will start your studies in the Winter Semester 2024.
  • You will arrive in Germany and activate your Blocked Account and Health Insurance by 31st October 2024.

Video submission guidelines:

  • Your video answers the above question in either English or German (subtitles are accepted too!).
  • Your video is no longer than 2 minutes, is in mp4 format, and does not include any copyrighted content.
  • Deadline for submitting your video submission is 30th September 2024.

How can I win the Expatrio Scholarship?

We want to see your personality shine through and inspire us. This is your chance to submit a video that showcases your talent and drive. 

Here are some key aspects we will look out for: 

  • Creative and original.
  • Clearly answers the question asked.
  • While high-quality videos will be recognized, we understand not everyone has access to equipment or skills. Your submission will still be considered fairly and won't be judged solely on production quality.

You will not be judged on age, nationality, your academic background or any other similar demographics.

Using the form, fill in your details and submit your video. Remember to use the same email address that you used for your Value Package application.

Make sure you submit your application by the 30th September 2024!

Get to Germany and start your studies! Remember to activate your Blocked Account and Health Insurance with Expatrio by 31st October 2024.

Winners announced

In late November, we will announce the winners of the Expatrio Scholarship. You will be informed by email and we will also announce it on our social media channels.

Receive your prizes!

Winners will receive their prize money directly into the bank account they use for their Blocked Account payouts.

Once you upload your residence permit within the given timeframe, you will be granted permanent access to your Bank Account and all the amazing benefits that come with it.
