Course description
The International Plant Sciences degree program dives deep into both the fundamental and applied aspects of plant sciences. The goal is to equip students with a solid foundation in plant sciences and then expand this knowledge into various specialized scientific fields. Students will engage in courses from key categories such as Plant Cell Development and Ultrastructure, Plant Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology, and Plant Systematics and Biodiversity. Additionally, the program offers a broad array of laboratory courses, including Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Transgenic Plants, Biodiversity, Systematics and Evolution of Plants, Plant Cell Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Paleobotany, and Ecology and Conservation. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive education, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. By integrating these diverse areas of study, students are prepared to tackle complex challenges in plant sciences, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the plant world.

Bachelor of Science degree certificate. If the certificate is scheduled to be obtained after the application deadline, include a recent study transcript and indicate the date of expected graduation during the admission application. If your degree certificate does not contain a grade you must provide your most recent transcript or mark sheet. Certificates not written in English or German need to be translated. Upper secondary school certificate – such as Abitur, High School, Baccalauréat and GCE-O/A levels or equivalent. Certificates not written in English or German need to be translated. TOEFL or IELTS certificate or any other certificate demonstrating CEFR level B2 or better; if not exempt from English proficiency test (see above). Curriculum vitae *Cumulative file size of all documents must be below 5 MB. When submitting your application you must also include: 5. Names and contact details of two potential referees. They do not need to provide a recommendation letter at the time, however they may get contacted by us later. 6. A short letter of interest (less than 300 words) describing your motivation to participate in the M.Sc.Plant Sciences program at Bonn University. Unlike the documents listed above, this statement must not be provided as PDF file but has to be typed in an active window of the online application portal (or copy-pasted from a text editor). The text should be in English with no use of special characters.
