M.Ed. | Master of Education
Course description
The English subject in the Master of Education degree program emphasizes regions like Great Britain, North America, and the post-colonial world. This interdisciplinary approach covers language, literature, and culture, alongside historical, philosophical, political, and media studies. The academic focus includes English linguistics and communication, North American studies, and British and postcolonial literature and cultural studies. Unlike the Bachelor's degree, which centers on two academic subjects, the Master of Education prioritizes educational science and subject didactics. In subject didactics, students develop theories, models, and methods for teaching English. They learn learning-centered and action-oriented techniques for language, literature, cultural, and media didactics. This program aims to equip future educators with the skills to teach English effectively, fostering a deep understanding of the subject matter and its broader cultural contexts.
