Course description
This interdisciplinary, research-oriented Master's degree program targets both international students of theoretical physics with a strong mathematical inclination and international students of mathematics with a keen interest in physical applications. The program introduces students to contemporary problems and methods in mathematics and mathematical and theoretical physics through courses offered by both the Faculties of Physics and Mathematics. Students start with a solid foundation in theoretical physics and mathematics. They then acquire advanced knowledge, enabling them to work methodically and independently in a scientific context. The goal is to familiarize students with current research in at least one area of theoretical physics, mathematics, or their intersections, and to contribute to this research. The Faculties of Physics and Mathematics offer several specializations that are partly overlapping and complementary. This course is designed to help students understand the mathematically precise formulation and physical relevance of scientific work, including interdisciplinary work. It also aims to teach students to critically classify and clearly present the essential content of scientific work. The degree obtained qualifies students for a doctorate in theoretical physics or mathematics. The program fosters an environment of trust, understanding, and inclusivity, ensuring that students can communicate clearly and concisely.
