Qualification Requirements
The formal requirement for admission to the Master's programme is the completion of a first university degree in political science or a social science or an equivalent domestic or foreign degree. The following are considered admission requirements: Overall grade 2.5 or better ≥ 70 ECTS credits with a political science background including methods, of which a maximum of 20 ECTS credits in the field of methods. Overall grade 3.0 or better ≥ 90 ECTS credits with a background in political science including methods, of which a maximum of 20 ECTS credits in the area of methods. In addition: If you have completed less than 20 ECTS points in methods during your Bachelor's degree, you may be admitted with the condition that you make up one or more modules in empirical social research and / or statistics in Bamberg. If you are unsure whether the examinations you have taken can be categorised as having a political science background, you should still apply. Courses from the subjects of sociology, philosophy, economics or similar can also be included if there is a political science connection. Missing political science courses can be made up if necessary. The programme can be taken up in either the winter or summer semester. The standard period of study is 4 semesters.
