Course description
The Elite Master in Biomedical Neuroscience at the Technical University of Munich, funded by the Bavarian Elite Network, is housed within the TUM School of Medicine and Health. This program targets graduates holding a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification of at least six semesters in scientific fields like biology, chemistry, psychology, or related disciplines, as well as those with a medical degree. This interdisciplinary course features contributions from experts in both natural sciences and clinical areas. It aims to deliver comprehensive, in-depth knowledge in neuroscience and neuro-psychiatric diseases. The curriculum emphasizes cellular and systemic neurobiology, molecular neurochemistry and genetics, neuroscientific research methods, and the mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric diseases. Students will gain theoretical and methodological foundations, enhanced by project-based scientific work conducted in institutes led by highly qualified scientists. Additionally, the program covers essential skills such as data analysis, scientific ethics, management, and communication.

Qualification Requirements
Minimum requirements to apply for a Master's program at TUM are a recognized undergraduate degree (e.g. a bachelor’s) and the successful completion of the aptitude assessment procedure. Aptitude assessment allows the TUM school or department to which you are applying the opportunity to evaluate your individual talents and motivation for study.
