Medical Microtechnology
Subjects: Healthcare;Microtechnology
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Shaping the future of healthcare technology and studying in two countries, the German-Danish degree program offers a unique opportunity to blend healthcare, engineering, and life sciences. This program, unparalleled in Germany, equips students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in medical and microtechnology. Students dive into the basics of medical and microtechnology, learning through hands-on experience and theoretical study. They innovate therapeutic solutions within a rich environment of science, industry, and clinical practice. The Medical Microtechnology program, a joint effort between the University of Lübeck and the University of Southern Denmark, is conducted in English. In the first semester, students focus on the fundamentals of medicine and medical technology in Lübeck. The second semester shifts to Sønderborg, where they gain essential knowledge in microtechnology. The third semester involves a research internship, which can be completed in Sønderborg, Lübeck, or other institutions such as universities, institutes, companies, or clinics. Students present their findings at the Lübeck student conference. The fourth semester is dedicated to writing the final thesis, culminating in a one-hour colloquium. This program not only fosters academic growth but also prepares students to be at the forefront of healthcare technology innovation.
