Course description
To earn a master’s degree in Landscape Studies and Greenspace Management, students can choose between two paths. Path A is designed for those holding a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. This path spans two semesters, beginning on September 1st. The first semester includes three compulsory modules and two compulsory-elective modules, with a selection of ten elective options. These courses set the stage for the final semester, which focuses on an intensive four-month master’s thesis. Path B caters to students with bachelor’s degrees in related fields such as Architecture, Landscape Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Nature Conservancy, and Geography. This path extends over four semesters, starting on March 1st. The initial semester comprises three compulsory modules and two compulsory-elective modules, also offering ten elective choices. In the second semester, Path B students join Path A students, sharing the three compulsory modules during the winter semester. The third semester involves an internship, leading to the final winter semester dedicated to the four-month master’s thesis. Both paths are structured to provide a comprehensive education in Landscape Studies and Greenspace Management, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future careers.

Document Requirements
The following additional requirements must be met in order to be qualified to study the course: 1) Proof of Drawing Ability (freehand [sketch] and CAD) confirmed by examples of both freehand- and CAD drawings with a minimum of 5 ECTS. The drawings should ideally be landscape orientated, but this is not a requirement. 2) Proof of Ability to Work Academically, Generalistic Reasoning and Interdisciplinary Working Methods confirmed by a written essay (approx. one page) composed by the applicant and documents his/her ability to work academically, the applicant may select the topic him- /herself. 3) Proof of Design Experience in the Field of Landscape Architecture undertaken by the Applicant confirmed by planning drawings of a landscape scheme or town planning project drawn by the applicant at a scale between 1:500 and 1:2000 with a minimum of 5 ECTS. AND confirmed by detailed drawings of an open space scheme drawn by the applicant at a scale between 1:200 and 1:5 with a minimum of 5 ECTS. 4) Letter of Motivation One A4 page (approx.. 3500 characters incl. spaces) addressing the following topics: 1) why you wish to study Landscape Sciences AND 2) how relevant landscape, open spaces and plants are to you.
