IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum 5.5 points.
Qualification Requirements
To embark upon the master’s degree programme in Electrical Engineering at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, you must hold a first degree in electrical engineering and information technology with a “good” minimum final grade average (overall grade of 2.5+). Applications from related degree programmes can be accepted upon special request. Proof of sufficient proficiency in both written and spoken English is required, in one of the following forms: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum of either 75 points in the internet-based test (iBT), 206 points in the computer-based test (CBT), or 525 points in the paper-based test (PBT). IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum 5.5 points. Applicants who have already completed a degree programme in English are assumed to be proficient. The same applies to applicants who attained a grade of at least 2.5 in “English” as a regular compulsory subject in their degree programme. International students require proof of basic knowledge of German, i.e. level A1, to study for this master’s in Electrical Engineering. This can also be attained by completing the appropriate language course at Kempten University of Applied Sciences during the first or second semester. If you took particular joy during your previous studies of electrical engineering and information technology or related degree programme in tackling electrical engineering challenges and have graduated with merit or distinction, then you will already have fulfilled the major requirements for embarking upon this master’s degree programme. Should you wish to expand and enhance your specialist knowledge of electrical engineering with additional language, methodological and problem-solving skills for going on to tackle demanding, complex tasks in the industry, then you should seriously consider postgraduate studies.
