Course description
The Master Program in Linguistics is a focused study in theoretical linguistics, conducted entirely in English. This 4-semester, one-subject course builds on the foundational knowledge gained during a Bachelor's degree. It delves deeper into research-oriented studies across three key areas: syntax, semantics, and phonology. Additionally, it covers psycho- and neurolinguistics, language variation and change, and constraint-based grammar. Participants will benefit from the expertise of several institutes. The Institute of Linguistics leads the program, with significant contributions from the Institute for English & American Studies (IEAS), the Institute for Psycholinguistics and Didactics of the German Language, and the Institute for Romance Languages and Literatures. This MA program is designed to enhance your research skills and deepen your understanding of linguistics. It offers a comprehensive and specialized education, preparing you for advanced research or professional practice in the field.
