Course description
Geodesy and Geoinformatics encompass a broad spectrum of tasks and activities. This field addresses pressing social issues, from climate change to the effects of a growing global population on land. Data from geodetic satellite missions enable global monitoring of sea-level rise. Geodetic methods also document land ownership and valuation, including real estate, which is crucial for sustainable urban and rural development. A resilient infrastructure is vital for the future. Geomatics significantly contributes to structural monitoring, such as assessing ageing transport infrastructure or modeling buildings using Building Information Management (BIM) methods. Additionally, the development and geodetic use of innovative quantum-optical sensing represent a forward-looking research area. In the “Geomatics” specialisation of the master’s degree programme in Geodesy and Geoinformatics, you build on your Bachelor’s knowledge. Advanced subjects provide in-depth basics. Through compulsory elective modules and two projects, you will enhance your skills and tackle practical tasks as part of a team. The “Studium Generale” allows you to attend courses from other degree programmes. The entire degree programme is primarily offered in English.
