Applied + Environmental Geoscience AEG
Subjects: Geoscience
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Applied & Environmental Geoscience (AEG) is an international, research-driven study program dedicated to tackling environmental issues. It places a strong focus on subsurface challenges, such as groundwater pollution affecting drinking water supplies, unsustainable natural resource use, and the consequences of waste disposal over time. The program also examines how climate and land-use changes impact soil and water quality. AEG aims to provide a deep understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological processes within the geo- and hydrosphere. Students from diverse scientific backgrounds learn to address complex processes in soils, water, and air both qualitatively and quantitatively. They are trained to assess environmental risks using multidisciplinary approaches. The curriculum covers a range of subjects, ensuring students gain the skills needed to evaluate and solve environmental problems effectively. This comprehensive approach prepares graduates to make informed decisions and contribute to sustainable environmental management.
