Course description
The degree program aims to equip managers with the skills to create innovative, sustainable management strategies for natural forests, plantation forests, and other forest formations. It also covers agroforestry systems and urban green spaces, focusing on their use and upkeep. Emphasis is placed on adapting to changing social conditions and understanding the complex interactions between people and forest development through a multidisciplinary approach. This two-year course offers 120 ECTS credits, including three semesters of direct study and one semester dedicated to writing and defending a Master's thesis. Students can tailor their learning experience through compulsory elective modules, allowing them to develop a unique profile. The research plan is designed to effectively gather and analyze primary data towards the end of the third semester and the beginning of the fourth semester. The program fosters a deep understanding of forest management, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to address contemporary challenges in the field.

Qualification Requirements
Prerequisites for the Tropical Forestry Master’s degree program are: • Completed university degree program in the area of forest sciences or a similar subject (e.g. agriculture, horticulture, landscape architecture and regional planning, geography, water management, biology)
