Course description

The Data and Discourse Studies, M.A. program is an interdisciplinary course focusing on discourse analysis and research data. Discourse analysis explores the interplay between language, knowledge, and society. This program uniquely combines language analysis with historical, sociological, philosophical, and political science research. A key aspect of the course is the integration of digital and informatic approaches. Handling research data, processing it, and conducting digital analysis are central to the curriculum. In the humanities and social sciences, research data primarily consist of spoken language and written texts. The program emphasizes the collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of these data. Students will delve into how language shapes and is shaped by societal structures. They will learn to apply various analytical methods to understand and interpret discourse within different contexts. The course aims to equip students with the skills to manage and analyze research data effectively, preparing them for careers in academia, research, and beyond.
