Course description
The Faculty of Art and Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar launched the English-language, postgraduate M.F.A. degree program in "Public Art and New Artistic Strategies" during the winter semester of 2001/02. This pioneering master's program, unique in Germany, equips fine arts students with the skills needed for impactful artistic interventions in public spaces. Aimed at international students, the program was initiated with funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Students from across the globe join this MFA program, while German students benefit from a broad network of international partner universities, allowing them to study abroad for one or two semesters. The program limits enrollment to 40 students. Foreign students spend four semesters in Weimar, whereas German students must study abroad for at least one semester. New enrollments are only accepted in the winter semester.
