Course description
Modern molecular biotechnology and genetic engineering are crucial in many research and industrial areas. These include biological and medical research, drug production, creating desired metabolites, optimizing technical enzymes, developing cellular detection systems, environmental management strategies, and food production. Their importance will only grow in the future. This three-semester English study program is designed for national and international students with backgrounds in biotechnology, pharmaceutical engineering, biomedical engineering, biology, food technology, and related fields. It aims to deepen their knowledge in this vital area. The program covers advanced genetic engineering and cell culture, OMICS technologies, next-generation sequencing, databases and bioinformatics, and recombinant protein production, among other subjects. Graduates will be well-prepared for high positions in relevant companies and research institutes.

English language proficiency (TOEFL min. 95 (iBT), IELTS 7.0, C1 or equivalent). An evidenced graduation from an English-medium college or university is also accepted.
Qualification Requirements
An academic degree in biotechnology, pharmaceutical engineering, biomedical engineering, biology, food technology or related fields of study of at least 7 semesters (210 credits) is required. Relevant qualified professional experience of at least one year after graduation is required. 1. final grade first academic degree: Overall grades up to 2.0 (German grading scale) go into the selection process Overall grades lower than 2.0 (German grading scale) cannot be admitted 2. other criteria: letter of motivation/justification of desired degree program CV professional experience in some cases aptitude interview
