Qualification Requirements
The most important admission requirement for a Bachelor’s study program at the AMD is a university entrance qualification (German “Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”). In terms of higher education law, the AMD is part of the Hochschule Fresenius, which has its headquarters in the German State of Hesse. Therefore, your university entrance qualification must be valid for a study program in Hesse. You can prove your university entrance qualification through one of the following options: General university entrance qualification from Germany (German “Abitur”) The general university entrance qualification entitles you to take up a study program in all German federal states and in all fields of study. A qualification equivalent to the general university entrance qualification is also held by those who have successfully completed a an accredited Bachelor’s study program at a state or state-recognized university of cooperative education. International school-leaving degree As educational systems differ around the world, we will need to check whether your school-leaving certificate specifically qualifies you to study in Germany. The AMD as part of Hochschule Fresenius is subject to the Hessian Higher Education Act and the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts will need to officially approve your qualifications. University Qualification Examination (German “Feststellungsprüfung“/Studienkolleg) If you have an international school-leaving certificate that does not specifically entitle you to study at a university in Germany, you can take the university qualification examination (“Feststellungsprüfung”). This is also available at Hochschule Fresenius. At Studienkolleg NRW, we offer focus courses to prepare you for the Feststellungsprüfung. You can also apply for these preparatory courses and the subsequent Bachelor’s program through our Pre-Bachelor. More information about Studienkolleg NRW is available here. AMD entrance examination International applicants who have a secondary school leaving diploma and qualify to enter a Bachelor program in their home country but do not meet the German higher education entrance qualification, are entitled to take the AMD Akademie Mode & Design entrance examination. This test is free of charge and consists of a 120-minute written online test and a 30-minute oral test. If you pass the test, you will have direct access to our undergraduate study programs. The tasks and questions assess your methodological, specialist, analytical, and communicative skills, which are necessary for successfully completing your studies.
Document Requirements
Last but not least, we require proof that you fulfill the aforementioned admission requirements (university entrance qualification, language skills) as well as a few other documents from you. You can upload all of these in the upload area where you will also find a detailed list of the required documents. You will receive your login information to the upload area after your online application.
