Course description

Digital and Computational Archaeology focuses on using digital tools and computational techniques in the field of archaeology. The MA Digital and Computational Archaeology program aims to provide archaeology graduates with essential skills in both established and new digital technologies. This program prepares students for careers in academia, cultural resource management, museums, and various cultural heritage organizations, both public and private. Students enrolled in this program have access to the Cologne Digital Archaeology Laboratory (CoDArchLab). This facility offers teaching, research, and study spaces, numerous workstations, a range of commercial and open-source software, and specialized computational imaging equipment. The program ensures that students gain practical, theoretical, and critical skills necessary for their professional development in the field.
