Course description
The research-oriented Master's program in Media Engineering offers a deep dive into media technology and media informatics. Spanning four semesters, this structured program is available in both German and English. During the first three semesters, students gain in-depth knowledge through core modules in media technology and related engineering fields. Practical teaching is emphasized to provide a comprehensive understanding of media engineering. Cutting-edge laboratories, including those at the “Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Center” (I3TC), support hands-on research. A key component of the course is the media or research project in the third semester. This project allows students to engage with current research topics and apply their acquired knowledge directly. The fourth semester is dedicated to the master's thesis, where students further deepen their expertise and conduct application-oriented research.
