Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg or DHBW for short) is the first of its kind in Germany which integrates academic studies with workplace training. Students gain three months of on-the-job training at the university's partner companies and then study theory for three months, repeating throughout the entire duration of the course.
It is also one of the largest higher education institutions in the state. The university has Schools of Business, Engineering and Social Work.

DHBW, as it is today, was founded in 2009; however, its roots can be traced back to the University of Cooperative Education BA BW (Berufsakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg) which was founded in 1974. There are three campuses with nine locations and around 34,000 enrolled students. The university works with 9,000 partner companies and offers over 100 undergraduate courses in the fields of Business, Engineering, and Social Work.
Study at one of the most modern universities in Germany.
DHBW uses a variety of teaching methods, and there are less than 30 students per class. All degree courses are classified as intensive and switch every three months between theory and practice. Students are compensated for their work experience time with the companies and will graduate already trained and ready to start their careers.
Students gain invaluable experience throughout their time at DHBW through workshops, seminars, and classes taught by highly qualified specialists from partner companies. Business Administration & International Business, at the Lörrach and Mannheim locations, is the only course that is taught entirely in English.
Internationals studying for more than one year in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will have to pay a €1,500 tuition fee per semester.
