Ludwigsburg University of Education (LUE), or Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg, is the largest university of education in Baden-Wuerttemberg. It focuses on four disciplines: school education, extra-curricular education, adult or further education, and education in cultural and social areas. There are degree courses for primary, secondary, and European secondary schools as well as special education. There is also a Master’s of Science course for vocational education. Scholastic and extra-curricular education research is carried out at LUE, with an emphasis on subject pedagogy and educational science.

The original University of Education was founded in 1962 and then moved to its Ludwigsburg location in 1966. There are around 5,500 students who are supported by 450 members of staff. LUE offers seven bachelor's courses for teaching a range of age groups, special education and more. A total of 15 master's degree courses are available in adult education, early childhood education, and education management, among others. There are three faculties: Educational and Social Sciences, Cultural and Natural Sciences, and Special Education.
Ludwigsburg University of Education specializes in courses regarding several forms of education. LUE supports graduates in the workplace by offering ongoing training and education. The Center for Lifelong Professional Development (CLPD) offers part-time master's programs and guidance for teachers and education and social professionals.
The university has a student art gallery and a literature café that hosts readings, concerts, and poetry slams. The International Office mentors over 100 international students every year.
Internationals studying for more than one year in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will have to pay a €1,500 tuition fee per semester.
