Rottenburg am Neckar, also known as simply Rottenburg, is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in the south of Germany. The name of the town is believed to have been derived from a word meaning destroyed, due to the Roman ruins found during settlement in the Middle Ages. Gothic and Baroque architecture can be seen in the cathedral, fountains, and other buildings throughout the town.
