Ingolstadt is the fifth largest city in Bavaria and is located within easy reach of Munich. As the birthplace of both Shelley’s Frankenstein and the Illuminati group, the town has a rich heritage of scientific enlightenment and storytelling.

Studying and Working in Ingolstadt

The city is home to two universities, the Ingolstadt School of Management and the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt (THI). The first is part of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. It is one of Germany’s leading management schools and the country’s only Catholic business school, offering a range of Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral courses. The second, the University of Applied Sciences, is home to 6,000 students and offers courses in business administration, computer science and technology.

Outside of the historic city walls and medieval center, Ingolstadt’s suburbs are home to a number of leading manufacturing companies. Many graduates of both the Business School and the Applied Sciences university find employment at Audi or the many oil refineries located outside of Ingolstadt. Munich, with its high rates of employment in the high tech and automobile sectors, is also easy to commute to from Ingolstadt.
