The future-oriented study programmes focus in well established courses such as engineering, economics and journalism, and in new branches.
To develop its young talents, the university of applied sciences supports studies and research in a broad range of topics. As one of the educational pillars, research at the Westfälische Hochschule is shaped by application-orientation and close cooperation with the practical field. The university offers eight research focus areas that range from Cyber Security to Urban Traffic. This diversity is also present in the university's openness to international students.
