Course description

Possible Research Questions in the Master of Economic Research 1. How can behavior-based measures be effectively utilized for policy interventions? 2. What roles do environmental taxes and tradable emission certificates play in combating climate change, and what incentives drive their effectiveness? 3. What are the most effective methods to measure and regulate systemic risks in financial markets? 4. How does monetary policy contribute to the stability of financial markets? 5. What are the underlying causes of persistent economic inequalities? 6. What measures can promote social mobility? 7. Why does inequality persist in modern welfare states? 8. Is there an efficiency justification for policies that affect market prices, such as rent control or minimum wage laws? Is there also a fairness justification? These questions aim to explore critical areas within the Master of Economic Research program, focusing on the intersection of economic theory, policy, and real-world applications. By addressing these topics, students can contribute to a deeper understanding of economic dynamics and inform effective policy-making.
