Course description
SPRING stands for Spatial Planning for Regions in Growing Economies. It's a two-year Master's program focused on spatial planning in developing and emerging countries. The curriculum covers pressing issues like rapid urban growth, balancing environmental protection with economic development, improving transport systems, and strategies to handle climate change impacts. In the first year, students study at TU Dortmund University. The second year is spent at one of five partner universities in Ghana, Tanzania, The Philippines, Brazil, or Chile (currently not available). The program is taught in English and awards an M.Sc. Degree in Regional Development Planning and Management. Both the certificate and transcript are jointly issued by TU Dortmund University and the partner university of the second year.

Qualification Requirements
Students are selected on the basis of their application and their previous education. The minimum entry requirement is a Bachelor or Diploma degree (at least “satisfactory” [3.0]) with at least 240 ECTS in spatial planning or other related disciplines like geography, urban planning or architecture*. Please consider that we do not accept the degree of civil engineering. For applicants from other fields we strongly recommend a motivational letter and/or work samples.
