Course description
The international master’s degree course “Engineering and Management” is fully taught in English and welcomes both German and international students. This interdisciplinary program covers the entire value chain, from procurement to research and development, production, sales, and marketing. A key focus is on digitization. The digitization of products, processes, and connectivity via the “internet of things” presents significant opportunities and challenges for companies. In many industries, products and services now involve substantial software development. Products continuously record, process, and share data with operators or connected devices. “Industry 4.0” includes intelligently networked factories and innovative logistics solutions. In retail, mobile payment, shopping apps, and augmented reality are becoming standard. Digital transformation often impacts not just products and processes, but also a company’s business model. The program’s modules are designed to equip students with the skills needed to navigate these changes. By covering a broad spectrum of subjects, the course prepares graduates to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
