Course description

Understanding the brain is a monumental task. We've made significant strides in cellular and molecular neuroscience, and modern in vivo techniques now allow us to observe brain activity in humans without invasive procedures. However, the challenge remains to comprehend the brain as a complex, functioning system. Many questions still need answers. Our teaching faculty, including GSN members and guest lecturers from other institutions, believe that the brain's overwhelming complexity requires diverse approaches and methods from various neuroscience disciplines. The Master Program in Neurosciences is dedicated to educating the next generation of neuroscientists. Students gain a solid grasp of the molecular, cellular, and systemic principles of neurobiology. They delve into neuron-neuron interactions, the dynamics of neuron-glia interactions, and the rules of information transfer in both simple and complex circuits within single brain centers. They also study the interaction between different brain centers and the overall function of the human brain. This educational approach is clearly reflected in our curriculum. By fostering a deep understanding of these areas, we prepare our students to tackle the intricate workings of the brain with confidence and expertise.
