Course description

Are you fascinated by how science and technology shape our daily lives? Do you enjoy delving into the debates surrounding expertise and knowledge? If you're seeking a master’s programme that prioritizes your research interests, consider our MA in “Science and Technology Studies” (STS). This programme, conducted in English, might be the perfect fit for you. STS is an interdisciplinary field that examines the interplay between science, technology, and society. It explores the connections between scientific expertise, technological advancements, economies, governance, and contemporary cultures. Our STS programme is rooted in the ethnographic social studies of science, technology, and society. It thrives on collaboration across cultural anthropology, sociology, and human geography. A key feature of our approach is the ethnographic focus at the heart of both student and faculty research. This programme is offered by Goethe University’s Institute for Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology. Join us to explore the dynamic relationships between science, technology, and society through a research-oriented lens.
