Course description
The LL.M. course in IT Law and Intellectual Property Law is a one-year postgraduate program within the European Legal Informatics Study Programme (EULISP). It awards the academic degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.). This course stands out because IT law deals with the globally consistent development of information technology. It is inherently cross-border and significantly impacts national legal systems across all EU member states due to ongoing EU-level harmonization. Specialized lawyers in this field can expect to work internationally. Many major law firms have created dedicated IT/IP law departments and are actively seeking qualified lawyers. The demand for experts in these areas is growing in both the private and public sectors. This degree program addresses this need by covering key aspects of IT law, with a strong focus on European law fundamentals. Practicing lawyers contribute to the teaching, ensuring that the curriculum meets the labor market's needs for new IT lawyers. A unique feature of this one-year course is a mandatory stay at one of the eight EULISP partner universities. This experience enriches the learning process and provides valuable international exposure.
