Course description

The program equips students with essential skills in solar energy, covering a wide range of topics. You'll delve into the physical principles of solar cells, solar modules, and solar thermal collectors. You'll also learn to develop and design photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, assemble complex plants, power stations, and energy networks. Students can specialize in various areas within solar energy, such as solar cell technologies, photovoltaic systems and powerplants, solar thermal energy, grid integration, and electricity networks. Upon completing the program, you will: - Gain a comprehensive understanding of current and future energy needs. - Master the physics of solar cells and the integration of renewable energies into the power grid. - Learn the fundamentals of storage applications. - Understand the design and engineering of solar thermal systems. - Develop and design solar cells, photovoltaic modules, off-grid and grid-connected photovoltaic systems, solar thermal collectors, and heat storages. - Optimize and analyze photovoltaic systems and powerplants, focusing on innovation, efficiency, cost, and durability. - Evaluate new and emerging technologies in solar cells and solar collectors. - Apply scientific writing and presentation standards. - Create a master’s thesis based on your scientific work. - Collaborate with international students online, working in digital teams.
