The course is structured around three main types of modules. First, the regional studies modules focus on seminars that delve into the politics and society of Greater China, Japan, and Korea. Second, the social science modules offer lectures and seminars that equip students with analytical tools to understand these regions. Third, the technical language modules aim to enhance proficiency in the technical language of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, both in spoken and written forms. This program provides a thorough understanding of political and social developments in Japan, Korea, and Greater China. It explores intra-societal and intra-regional conflicts, analyzes trends in regionalization and integration in East Asia, and offers systematic training in handling sources in Japanese, Korean, or Chinese.
