Course description

This two-year, full-time double-degree Master’s program, offered in collaboration with several international universities, provides a unique educational experience. Students spend their first year at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and then choose a partner university for their second year, such as Copperbelt University in Zambia, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya, or Botswana International University of Science & Technology. The curriculum covers the functioning of managed landscapes, like agroecosystems, across various global regions. It equips students with the skills needed for nature conservation in these landscapes. Participants will learn to plan conservation efforts and manage land sustainably. They will also gain the ability to advise land users and other stakeholders effectively. Students will develop and apply tools to assess and predict the impacts of land management on nature. These tools include field methods, computational models, and laboratory techniques. Graduates will be prepared to work independently in planning and implementing nature conservation measures in diverse landscapes. They will also be capable of conducting scientific research and providing practical advice to land users, particularly farmers, on sustainable land management. This program fosters a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of ecosystems and human activities, preparing students to make a meaningful impact in the field of nature conservation and sustainable land
