Created in 1982 from the amalgamation of four Bremen-based technical universities, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences offers BA and MA courses in business, natural sciences, engineering, architecture, and social sciences – along with many more specific options. Strongly linked with the cities manufacturing and trading economy, the school welcomes foreign students, with a selection of multi-lingual courses spread across its five faculties.

Bremen University of Applied Sciences is one of the premier applied sciences universities in northern Germany. The school offers bachelor and master courses in a wide variety of applied subjects, with options varying from Energy Engineering to European and Asian Management. While most of the school's courses are taught in German, it runs nine English-language courses, along with annual "International Days" to attract talented students from across the world. International students must complete a C1 TestDaf qualification to be considered for admission, unless they are applying for the International Ship Management class, which is wholly taught in English. Instruction is usually based around vocational requirements, with frequent participation from Bremen's major employers as well as the chance to study at over 300 international institutions.
